The conferral of degrees within the Illuminati Order.

Freemasons who have attained the Apprentice degree have the opportunity to obtain the lower degrees of the Illuminati Order. These degrees are conferred either by the Scottish Lodge in Essen or by authorized Minerval Churches and Superiors. The Minerval Church serves as an extension of the Craft Lodge, where existing knowledge is deepened and new insights are gained.

It is important to note that the Illuminati Order does not possess its own Craft Lodges and therefore does not confer the degrees of Craft Freemasonry. Nevertheless, the Order conducts interdisciplinary instructions and advanced training. The lower degrees of the Illuminati Order are traditionally known as Novice, Minerval, Illuminatus Minor, and Illuminatus Major. The Illuminatus Major represents a transition from Craft Freemasonry to Scottish Freemasonry, which is addressed both in the Scottish Lodge and through the Scottish Order Chapter of the directing Illuminati.

The Promotion of Master Masons to the Scottish Degree:

With the consent of the Ancient Scottish Directorate of the Grand National Mother Lodge "To the Three Globes," the Freemasons of the Essen Scottish Lodge are once again officially working according to the rituals of the General Ancient Scottish Lodge of the Grand National Mother Lodge "To the Three Globes." They are authorized to initiate Master Masons from recognized Masonic lodges into the degree of the Ancient Scottish Master. Independent Scottish lodges may be permitted to use the ritual according to the constitution of the General Ancient Scottish Lodge. This does not imply a closer connection, and organizational independence remains intact.

The Ancient Scottish Masters introduced in the Scottish Lodge in Essen are considered visiting brothers according to §25, paragraph 3 of the Statutes of the General Ancient Scottish Lodge of the Grand National Mother Lodge "To the Three Globes" and are permitted to participate in the workings of the General Ancient Scottish Lodge and its delegated Scottish lodges.

The jurisdiction of regular Grand Lodges is limited to the three Craft degrees. Since the Illuminati Order does not confer these degrees, regular Grand Lodges or their affiliated lodges have no right to deny their members participation in the Illuminati Order. There exists a regulated relationship between the Scottish Lodge and the Grand National Mother Lodge "To the Three Globes." A regular Master Mason cannot be prevented by a regular Grand Lodge or an affiliated lodge from being promoted to the Scottish Lodge.
